winter sonata

by h5@2300/271110

It was snowing yesterday.
Though weather forecasters predicted a sunny day.
Too early for a winter day they say.
Some even cursing for ruining their day.
"So freezing cold, please go away!"

Silently snowflakes touch my cheeks.
Break up all my random thoughts.
Walking alone in the snowy streets.
My mind also snows a lot.

Oh snowy snow fell all night.
It made a blanket soft and white.
Indeed such a beautiful sight.
It's impossible without His might.
Subhanallah! ^_^

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.

Advice is like snow - the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon,
and the deeper it sinks into the mind.

People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy.

We need society, and we need solitude also,
as we need summer and winter, day and night, exercise and rest.

While I relish our warm months, winter forms our character and brings out our best.

tahajjud

In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful
O Allah bless Muhammad and his family
O Allah I turn to You through Your Prophet,
the Prophet of mercy and (through) his family
and I place them in front of my needs so make me through them, respected,
in the world and in the hereafter and from the near ones
O Allah have mercy on me through them and do not punish me through them
and guide me through them and do not lead me astray through them
and grant me sustenance through them and do not deny me through them and
fulfill my needs of the world and the hereafter
Surely You have power over all things and (You) are aware of all things...

Praying at night gives serenity and tranquillity to the heart.

Tahajjud, also known as the "night prayer" is a voluntary prayer. It is not one of the five obligatory prayers required of all Muslims, yet still, our beloved prophet Muhammad performed it many times and encouraged his companions to offer it for its many rewards and benefits.

Narrated Masruq: I asked 'Aisha which deed was most loved by the Prophet. She said, "A deed done continuously." I further asked, "When did he used to get up (in the night for the prayer)." She said, "He used to get up on hearing the crowing of a cock." [Sahih Bukhari]

Narrated Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As: Allah's Apostle told me, "The most beloved prayer to Allah is that of David and the most beloved fasts to Allah are those of David. He used to sleep for half of the night and then pray for one third of the night and again sleep for its sixth part and used to fast on alternate days." [Sahih Bukhari]

‘They used to sleep but little by night (invoking their Lord and praying, with fear and hope)'. [Qur’an 51: 17]

‘And in some parts of the night (also) offer the prayer with it (i.e. recite the Qur’an in the prayer), as an additional prayer (Tahajjud: optional prayer)’. [Qur’an 17: 79]

Solah tahajjud brighten the faces, makes the night pleasant, and attracts sustenance. So let's pray tahajjud! ^_^

La tahzan..

Don't be sad! (la tahzan)

Here are some useful tips for me and you!

The Fundamentals Of Happiness

1. Know that if you do not live within the scope of today, your thoughts will be scattered, your affairs will become confused, and your worrying will increase - these realities explain the hadith:
“When you are in the morning, do not expect to see the evening, and when you are in the evening, do not expect to see the morning.”

2. Forget the past and all that it contained. Being absorbed in things that are gone is sheer lunacy.

3. Do not be preoccupied with the future. Because the future is in the world of the unseen, do not let it bother you until it comes.

4. Do not be shaken by criticism; instead, be firm. And know that, in proportion to your worth, the level of people’s criticism rises.

5. Faith in Allah and good deeds: these are the ingredients that make up a good and happy life! ^_^

6. Whoever desires peace, tranquility, and comfort can find it all in the remembrance of Allah.

7. You should know with certainty that everything that happens occurs in accordance with a divine decree.

8. Do not expect gratitude from anyone.

9. Train yourself to be ready and be prepared for the worst eventuality.

10. Perhaps what has happened is in your best interest (though you may not comprehend how that is so).

11. Everything that is decreed for the Muslim is best for him.

12. Enumerate the blessings of Allah and be thankful for them.

13. You are better off than many others.

14. Relief comes from one hour to the next.

15. In both times of hardship and ease, one should turn to supplication and prayer.

16. Calamities should strengthen your heart and reshape your outlook in a positive sense.

17. Indeed, with each difficulty there is relief.

18. Do not let trifles be the cause of your destruction.

19. Indeed, your Lord is Oft-Forgiving.

20. Do not be angry... Do not be angry... Do not be angry.

21. Life is bread, water, and shade, so do not be perturbed by a lack of any other material thing.

“And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised.” Surah Adh-Dhariyat:22.

22. Most evil that is supposed to happen never occurs.

23. Look at those who are afflicted and be thankful.

24. When Allah loves a people, He makes them endure trials.

25. You should constantly repeat those supplications that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi was
sallam taught us to say during times of hardship.

26. Work hard at something that is productive, and cast off idleness.

27. Don't spread rumors and don't listen to them. If you hear a rumor inadvertently, then don't
believe it..

28. Your malice and your striving to seek revenge are much more harmful to your health than they are to your antagonist.

29. The hardships that befall you atone for your sins.

Taken from: Do Not Be Sad - Aaidh ibn Abdullah al-Qarni

So do not lose heart, and do not fall into despair; for you must gain mastery if you are true in faith. (3:139)

Dan janganlah kamu (merasa) lemah, dan jangan pula bersedih hati, sebab kamu paling tinggi (darjatnya), jika kamu orang beriman.

autumn in my heart

when you really want something
sometimes you have to swim a little deeper..
you can't simply give up
just because things don't come easy..
you have to overcome the obstacles
and bravely face your fears..
and in the end, it's all worth while!

as we all know
life is full of ups and downs..
but if you believe in yourself
you will always come through
with flying colours..

value friendship, love and faith..
never underestimate yourself dear..
and believe in yourself!
whatever they say
just keep swimming love..

have a good life insyaAllah!

p/s: i'm lacking of spark in my life currently just like the dried leaves lying low soaking on the ground..really need some 'special treatment' with the heart since everything seems to be wrong these days i don't know why (eg i didn't do my work properly and it's below expectation which affect others). just 1 thing for sure..when things become unbearable, turn to Allah! ^_^

la tahzan..la tahzan..la tahzan..

Ibn al-Jawzi said:
"Something was causing me a great deal of grief and distress, and I started to think long and hard about how to get out of this situation by any means, but I could not find any way out. then I came across this verse:

'...And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out [of every difficulty].' (65:2)

I realised that Taqwa (Piety, fearing Allah) is the way out of every kind of grief and distress. As soon as I followed the path of taqwa, I found the way out."

istimewa

بسم الله الرحمنالرحيم

This entry is for you.. yes YOU the one who read this now!

Whom I know.. that will constantly changing for better! ^_^

Allah said in surah At-Tin verse 4:

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ

"Allah has created man in the most excellence of molds"

sebaik-baik kejadian.

Namun uniknya
mereka berjuang di saf yang sama
berprestasi pada matlamat yang sama
mencari keredhaanNya

awak..
yakinilah
bahawa dirimu istimewa
Setiap kita istimewa

awak..
manusia dinilai
bukan
dari mana asal-usulnya
apa latar belakangnya
apa kesilapan lalunya

dan manusia bukan dinilai
melalui petahnya percakapannya
lembutnya tutur katanya
berkesannya penulisannya

tetapi manusia dinilai
melalui perbuatan dan tanggungjawabnya

Usah difikirkan
dimana tempat mu di mata masyarakat
tetapi
fikirkanlah
bagaimana meraih posisi tertinggi
di sisi Allah
Yang Maha Pengampun
Yang Maha Mengetahui
Yang Maha Melimpah Nikmat & KurniaNya

'hati tempat jatuh pandangan Allah,

jasad lahir tumpuan manusia,

utamakanlah pandangan allah berbanding pandangan manusia'

Tarbiyah bukan untuk membentuk dan menyeragamkan keperibadian
Sama sekali tidak
tetapi tarbiyah adalah untuk mengakui
Keunikan peribadi adalah keistimewaan yang Allah anugerahkan

(puisi adapted from a friend)

Rasulullah even said,

"if you are good whilst you were in jahiliah time,
then you will also be good in Islam if you understand"

if you understand.

wallahu'alam

shopping therapy

Girls and shopping; inseparable! ^_^
Let's cheer up with some funny shopping quotes as we shop for more little packages of happiness.

In many girls' lives, shopping is a hobby and a must for some. When we're up, we shop. When we're down, we shop even more! That's very true in my case, within this week I spend plentiful of time and money for shopping though I have other things to do (this is of course due to loads of stress hohohh). And most of the time I would buy those yummylicious chocs; an evil plan to increase my own body fat to get thru this coming winter!

It's like through shopping, somehow we found a new focus and our moods get uplifted. What we can't solve in real life, we solve it through retail therapy. A new top in happy colours brighten us up. That irresistible pair of beautiful sandals is too hard to pass over. And our little babies (or for me; nieces/nephew) just need another cute orange hat to match her/his orange pair of little shoes.

You're not alone though. Girls just love to shop and these shopping quotes are for us!
Do share them with all your girlfriends who love to shop. Send your shopaholic friends to look at these usually funny and occasionally inspirational shopping quotes!

I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist.
-- Tammy Faye Bakker

I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet.
-- Carrie from Sex and the City

When women are depressed, they eat or go shopping. Men invade another country. It's a whole different way of thinking.
-- Elayne Boosler

Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping.
-- Bo Derek

On the one hand, shopping is dependable: You can do it alone, if you lose your heart to something that is wrong for you, you can return it; it's instant gratification and yet something you buy may well last for years.
-- Judith Krantz

Shopping is a woman thing. It's a contact sport like football. Women enjoy the scrimmage, the noisy crowds, the danger of being trampled to death, and the ecstasy of the purchase.

-- Erma Bombeck

"I love shopping, especially food shopping!" (Athirah et. al. 2010)

But of course don't overdo it! cause it might be hazardous to your financial health. and don't go for shopping even when you know you can't simply afford to buy anything. It's a good reminder for me and you as not to overspend and wasting time. Just a little treat for yourself once a while will do.

stay strong

Dear ukhti,

The burdens I face,

may not be the same

that the burdens you face..

and vice-versa.

But whatever challenge is presented to us,

Allah guarantees us..

that it’s something He is sure we can bear.

Take solace

and draw strength

from fact that Allah has told us

that we can rise to the challenge!

“On no soul does Allah place a burden greater than it can bear.

It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns.”

not now

by h5@1631/141110

There's something that we should have now
but there's also something that we shouldn't.

There's an event that should take place now
but at times there's an event that shouldn't.

There's something that we could do now
but there's also something that we couldn't.

There's a period that we think we can
but there's also certain period we think we can't.

There are times when we feel so happy
but there must be times when we feel so sad.

There're so many great things in store for us
if we keep believing that
some day we might get them
if not now then
when you ask me?
it may come to you later in life
perhaps in few years' time
maybe a couple of months
could be just few days
or even tomorrow
possibly in few hours' time
or within seconds!

Patience is the key
and always have faith in Him
the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful.

~every single thing happens for a reason...

"...But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not." (Al-Baqarah: 216)

Allah knows best!

truth REALLY hurts!

Another perspective: worth watching!
If London were occupied like Palestine, this is how it would be...

The sad part that it is true and still happening! We forget the daily ordeal of our Palestinian brothers and sisters! Let's pray for them. I came across with a blog where a sister has posted this idea for staging a peaceful protest through praying for our brothers and sisters in Gaza for 24 hours.

I am calling you sisters, I am trying to arrange something different, something more Islamic than anger and shouting. I am asking you, would you pray for Palestine? Would you join to the group of praying people in the park, if you would know they were there 24 hours praying for Palestine?

Only thing you would have to take with you, would be your prayers mat and the water bottle to make wudu. Would you do this? And if you are an Imam who reads this, would you lead the prayers 24 hours for Palestine? And if you are not able to pray, would you be able to help those who can by offering them hot drinks if it is cold or offering them warming blankets?

Could we do something like this as a one big Muslim ummah?
I would, so would you come to pray with me?
